At Stardust Pet Cremation, our goal is to ensure a comforting experience during this difficult time. We focus on client care by offering services like the pickup of deceased pets & return of ashes, attending home euthanasias, paw and nose prints or fur keepsakes and elegant, professional packaging of cremains.

Private Cremation

When your pet is ready for cremation, we pick up your pet from your veterinarian or directly from you. If the distance for pick up is a lengthy one (over an hour both ways), there is a small fee for our vehicle gas expense. If you want to bring your pet to our crematory yourself, please call 250-364-3130 for an appointment time.

We take special care to track your pet through the cremation stages from the time it's received by us until returned to you with a unique, assigned number connected to their name and your personal contact information.

We cremate your pet by itself and process to a sand-like ash called "cremains", ready to scatter, bury, or place in a memorial product such as an urn or jewellery, etc.

We bag the cremains within a scatter box and seal and label each item.

A cremation certificate and sympathy card are enclosed.

Paw and/or nose prints and/or fur samples are prepared for you only upon your request and at no cost to you. All items are placed in a double-handled, tagged bag for discreet transport home.

We feel that each animal, family member is a gift to us in life and we like to return each pet home as a gift.

Ashes are returned in about one week's time to either your veterinarian or to your home. You may also pick up cremains from our home in Trail. If ashes are returned through Canada Post, there is the added postal fee.

Private Cremation

Communal Cremation

When we receive your pet's body form either your veterinarian or from you directly, we place your pet in our crematory with the bodies of other pets. Once cremated, all ashes are now combined and individual ashes can not be returned. Instead all communal ashes are respectfully placed by us in a garden setting in the Trail area. Paw and/or nose prints and/or fur samples are prepared for you only upon your request and at no cost to you.

Cremation Pricing

Both private cremation and communal cremation prices are based on your pet's weight. Communal cremation costs are less than private cremation costs.

We accept cash, cheque or e-transfer as payment when your pet is received by us and before cremation begins.

We offer the lowest prices throughout our service area of Trail, Castlegar, Nelson, Slocan Valley, Balfour, Kaslo, Grand Forks and Creston and are available 24/7 to help you at 250-364-3130.

These prices apply when you use our service directly. If you use a veterinarian for both your pet's euthanasia and our cremation service, your veterinarian will add a small fee for preparing your pet for our pickup, resulting in a slightly higher cost for this convenience.
